Job Description

An exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team within our Community and Acute Services. As the Professional Development Coordinator, you will develop, coordinate, facilitate, and implement specialist training and psychoeducation to relevant service providers. Position Details: • Permanent part-time (38 hours per fortnight) The purpose of this role is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in clinical mental health services in the areas of assessment, intervention, treatment planning, and evaluation to children and young people in the care of the Department of Child Safety, Seniors, and Disability Services with extreme and complex therapeutic and behaviour support needs. Clinically, this role is required to hold a case load and support the statewide initiatives and programs, including delivering planned and evidence-based training. About You Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: High level clinical knowledge in childhood trauma, attachment theory, child development, collaborative practice, and systemic theory. High levels of initiative and responsibility in the identification, development, and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that incorporate consumer and carer participation, contributing to a statewide evidence-based model of service delivery, including participation and contribution to the activities of a statewide training/development network. High level knowledge and skills in contemporary adult learning concepts and practice, knowledge management principles that engage participants in a rich learning experience leading to change in clinical knowledge, skills, and attitudes, contributing to the knowledge base of stakeholders and advancing the development capacity to support the mental health needs of children. High level knowledge and skills in advising health practitioners, key government, non-government, private sector service providers, and caregivers (i.e. foster carers, youth workers) regarding the psychological and developmental sequelae of child abuse, neglect, and disrupted attachment. High level written and oral communication skills to provide consultation, supervision, and professional development, education, and training to ETS health professionals, agencies, and other stakeholders both internal and external to the health system.
