Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment. About The Kirby Institute: The Kirby Institute is a world-leading health research institute at UNSW Sydney. We work to eliminate infectious diseases, globally. Our specialisation is in developing health solutions for the most at-risk communities. Why Your Role Matters: The Program Coordinator position is a key role in the Global Health Program (GHP) and reports to the Program Head, with no direct reports. GHP carries out multidisciplinary research and related activities aimed at improving the health of populations at higher risk of adverse health outcomes in Australia and in low- and middle-income countries. You will be responsible for the effective management of projects and provision of administrative support within the program. Someone who is collaborative, organised and has good attention to detail would be a great fit for this role. Skills and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. Extensive experience in project coordination and the provision of logistical and administrative support in a similar role within an academic, medical or research environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced. Familiarity with UNSW grant application and management systems including NHMRC, ARC and other national and international research funding processes is desirable. Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including MS Office (including PowerPoint and Excel). Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative. Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
