Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site)Woodford Correctional Centre; Custodial Operations; Statewide Operations; Woodford - Participate in planning activities to ensure offenders have timely access to appropriate programs and interventions- Administer appropriate assessments to offenders and prepare offenders for offender intervention programs- Ensure offender program activities are consistent with evidence-based practice and deliver offender intervention programs in accordance with operational plans- Monitor progress of offenders during programs and related activities and report on progress- Ensure the timely provision of program impact reports and advice to courts, parole boards and other agencies regarding offenders- Identify and respond appropriately to risks arising from offender assessment and management- Maintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices, and legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender management Job details Position status: Permanent Position type: Full-time Occupational group: Psychology, Counselling & Social Work Classification: PO3 Workplace Location: Experience or ability to deliver group-based behavioural change programs Experience in and understanding of the criminal justice, case management or similar human services field Experience in a practice supervision model, both as supervisee and preferably, supervisor with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and encourage others Ability to engage with community groups and/or implement community development strategies Experience or ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds Understanding and application of theories, models and research related to behavioural change techniques Knowledge and application of research and practices, risk assessment instruments, process their application specific to effective correctional rehabilitation Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures Experience in problem solving, networking, risk management and conflict management Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements: The possession of a tertiary qualification in preferably in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, however, other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the discretion of the recruitment panel in consultation with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services. Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded. For Program Delivery Officers specialising in the delivery of sexual offending programs you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools (STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000) to allocate sex offenders to appropriate treatment. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a PDO position. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
