Transport and Main Roads, North Queensland Region, presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking, and enthusiastic Program Officer (Procurement).As the Program Officer (Procurement), you will be integral in supporting and coordinating Program/Project Managers and team members in procurement activities within the Region.Your attention to detail and dedication to best practices will help deliver impactful projects under the North Queensland Region Queensland Transport and Road Infrastructure Program (QTRIP) allocation.Transport and Main Roads, North Queensland Region, spans the stunning districts of Far North, North West, and Northern, with offices in Cairns, Cloncurry, and Townsville. As a Program Officer (Procurement), you're stepping into a role that bridges your expertise with the natural allure of North Queensland - a journey that's as thrilling as it is impactful.In The Role You Will Coordinate and monitor the provision of timely, accurate and relevant procurement advice and information in alignment with departmental procurement business and governance framework. Deliver assigned work and provide accurate procurement advice and information in alignment with departmental procurement business and governance framework. Procurement activity implementation including procurement planning and documentation, evaluation and supplier negotiation, contract documentation, supply arrangements establishment and maintenance. Provide accurate advice and support to clients regarding end-to-end procurement. Ensure successful business outcomes through effective resource utilization, performance monitoring, analysis and reporting and develop and implement business improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and procedures for customers. This position reports to the Advisor (Procurement).Mandatory Requirements Criminal history screening. A ā€œCā€ class driver's licence. While not mandatory, to be successful in the role it would be highly desirable to possess: Possession of Level 1 & Level 2 Qld PCP Procurement would be advantageous. Demonstrated knowledge of procurement processes and understanding procurement policies and work instructions. Strong analytical ability to review procurement documentation and identify discrepancies. Ability to use multiple finance and project management systems. It is highly desirable to have SAP and 3PCM experience or similar, but not essential. Proficient in MS Office suite applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
