We’re looking for a Project Communications Officer to support delivery of the Greater South East Irrigation Scheme. ABOUT US Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania, in accordance with sound commercial practice, to facilitate the expansion of agricultural production in the State. Tasmanian Irrigation owns and operates 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure. Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.” The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public / private partnership model. All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum. ABOUT THE ROLE This new role will play a vital part in planning, development and delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement activities to support Tasmanian Irrigation projects and corporate activity. This position is a “hands on” role undertaking a wide range of communications tasks across our business, both internally and externally. You’ll be supporting project teams with communication and engagement activity and contributing to corporate communication. We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience planning and preparing content for various communication products and various formats including newsletters, websites, media releases, and social media. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: Minimum of 5 years work experience in a PR/communications capacity, with demonstrated experience in designing and developing communication materials for corporate use Strong writing and editing skills, and a high level of attention to detail Confident and competent user of technology (including web content management systems, EDM technology such as MailChimp and social media management platforms such as Hootsuite) Able to work effectively within a team as well as autonomously Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently, show initiative and competently handle competing priorities A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications would be highly regarded.
