The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Project Engineer to join our team at Aquatec, reporting directly to the General Manager of Project Management. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of project-related work both on and off-site. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing and approving fabrication and shop drawings. Ensuring the bill of materials is accurate and compliant. Conducting quality checks on components and fabrications as required. Staying up-to-date on Water Authority standards and informing the project team of the latest changes. Key Responsibilities Manage the creation and collation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals in conjunction with the Project Managers. Assist the Project Manager in finalising the project designs with the design team. Review and close out design, HAZOP and CHAIR registers. Liaise with suppliers and keep track of procurement. Assist the PM in managing project risks. Ensure OHS compliance at all times. Prepare and submit RFIs and ensure close outs in a timely manner. Create the bill of materials for each project and ensure correctness. Manage the project fabrication and layout drawings. Carry out drawing reviews for buildability prior to them being issued for construction. Quality checking of critical components and fabricated items. Maintain and update Management of Change and Variation Registers. Key Selection Criteria The ideal candidate will be someone with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset and a collaborative approach to work. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Experience and knowledge in the water and wastewater or fluid handling industry (preferred). Attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in the use of AutoCAD. Experience in the use of 3D design software such as Inventor or Solidworks is an advantage. Minimum 3-5 years experience with projects in the water industry or similar process industries (preferred). Experience in end-to-end project engineering.
