Attractive Salary + Super + Salary Sacrifice The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs, models and policies for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being. The Unit will develop and manage to maturity; enhanced service delivery models in new and expanded functional IUIH services and programs. About the Role Reporting to the Research Manager, the Project Manager - Research will support project leads and investigators to coordinate research activity, performance monitoring, milestone delivery and other research-related activity, as necessary. Additionally, this role will work collaboratively to identify and support the development of new research opportunities that align with IUIH’s strategic plan and contribute to the ongoing development of systems, processes and tools to enhance research knowledge, skills and capability across the network. By working closely with the IUIH network and external partners this role carries and/or contributes directly to the conduct of research projects in keeping with interests, skills and time/capacity. Day to Day Duties Include: Support the Research Manager, project leads and investigators in the delivery of IUIH research projects, monitoring progress towards project milestones and timelines. Coordinate and/or manage IUIH research projects, including project administration; preparation and submission of ethics approvals and amendments; guiding and overseeing data collection and analysis; and reporting, as necessary. Provide direct supervision where required of research staff, within scope of supervisory skill and experience; allocate, guide and oversee the conduct and progress of tasks and research activities; and identify appropriate pathways for internal or external supervision of research staff. Coordinate the development of grant applications, research proposals and business cases for procurement of new funds to support growth of the Data and Research Unit, as required. Utilise professional knowledge and expertise in the areas of health promotion, prevention and/or health service evaluation and research in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to support the preparation of research proposals and/or evaluation frameworks within scope of skill and experience. Liaise with the Research Manager to support the coordination and delivery of training aimed at enhancing research knowledge, skills and capability of the research workforce. Contribute to the evidence base underpinning health service evaluation and research in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations via supporting the preparation and submission of manuscripts to relevant journals, presentations and conference proceedings in consultation with the Research Manager, project leads and investigators. About You Familiarity with the concepts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander terms of reference and research methodologies; and commitment to the principles and practice of Aboriginal community governance and control. Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, with proven experience in delivering a professional, client-focused service to a range of stakeholders. High level presentation and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of evaluation and research methods, including extensive experience of qualitative research methods and experience using analytic software such as NVivo (desirable). Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience with at least five years working in health research and evaluation or public health (postgraduate qualification desirable). Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). Current Criminal History Check. Desirable, but not mandatory Understanding of national research policies, procedures, funding streams and issues and be able to understand their relevance and application in the context of IUIH’s research or demonstrated capacity to learn. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities. What Can We Offer?
