Our Purpose: Grow Townsville Our Values: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Value, Enjoyment About the Role The Infrastructure and Operations Division has a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for the delivery of Council’s capital plan and employs specialist project and program management staff, experienced in capital works delivery including the management of scope, finance, schedule, stakeholders, risk and safety throughout the project lifecycle. The PMO applies project management fundamentals to deliver projects in accordance with the Project Management Framework (PMF), the approved capital plan and Townsville City Council governance requirements. This role supports the PMO as the technical expert for both procurement and contract administration by facilitating end-to-end tender and contract functions, along with promoting and supporting the PMO whilst ensuring compliance for each project, in line with the PMF and Townsville City Council governance requirements. About You Our ideal candidate will have: Mandatory Diploma in Contract Management, Project Management, or similar-related competency. Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD). Extensive experience within a local government or similar environment, specialising in procurement and contract management throughout the project and contract life cycle. Demonstrated experience performing in a highly autonomous environment, often with conflicting priorities and deadlines with the ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative work environment. Excellent communication skills to ensure stakeholders, internal and external, are well informed and contract execution is successful. Knowledge of Local Government Transport, Stormwater, Open Space, Water, Waste, Cemeteries, Coastal and Property assets. Knowledge of legislation relevant to Local Government procurement, contracting, Workplace Health and Safety and Quality Management.
