About The Role The Project Officer is primarily responsible for the establishment and delivery of the Know Your Bones: Awareness, Education and Osteoporosis Prevention Pilot Project in Tasmania but will also play an important and supportive role across all Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania (AOTAS) programs and services. This position will work closely with members of the AOTAS internal team as well as a broad range of external stakeholders including rural GP practices, community based allied health professionals, and key community groups such as the CWA. This role is offered with a maximum term of 2 years aligned with government grant funding. Key Responsibilities: Achievement of project deliverables, KPIs and reporting obligations, as stated within the Department of Health (Healthy Focus) Funding Agreement for the Know Your Bones: Awareness, Education and Osteoporosis Prevention Pilot Project . Foster key contacts and partnerships to support and enhance project deliverables and consumer outcomes. Capture and process data and information to contribute to the evaluation and reporting requirements of the project. Work closely with the CEO and Manager Health & Education Services, to plan and deliver a statewide program of community-based osteoporosis awareness, education and prevention services. Enhance and extend the reputation of AOTAS through participation in relevant professional and health sector networks. About Us Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania (AOTAS) is a not-for-profit incorporated association whose purpose is to make a positive difference to the lives of the 1 in 4 Tasmanians living with arthritis, osteoporosis or related musculoskeletal conditions. About You Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience: Relevant qualifications and/or skills and experience in health promotion, adult education or an allied health discipline. Project management experience, especially implementation of community-based health and wellbeing programs. Effective time management and organisational skills. Highly self-motivated, positive attitude and flexible approach. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Highly Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience working in a community or not-for-profit organization. Previous experience working with volunteers. Knowledge of the prevalence and impact of osteoporosis, arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions. Experience with social media as a communication tool. Other Requirements: National Police Check Current Tasmanian driver’s licence (full and unencumbered) A registered, roadworthy vehicle in sound mechanical condition (regularly serviced) with comprehensive insurance.
