We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage the procurement activities for Sydney Tower Dining. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sourcing, negotiating, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality goods and services for our venue's operations. The Purchasing Manager will play a vital role in maintaining inventory levels, optimizing spending, and ensuring that the needs of our guests and staff are met consistently. Key Responsibilities: Identify and establish relationships with vendors and suppliers for goods, services, and equipment. Negotiate delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency. Ensure suppliers meet quality standards, delivery timelines, and industry-specific requirements. Maintain an up-to-date list of approved vendors and regularly review supplier performance. Procurement & Inventory Control: Oversee the ordering of products, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained efficiently. Monitor stock levels and reorder products in a timely manner to prevent shortages or excess. Manage inventory control systems, ensuring accuracy of product deliveries, stock movements, and proper storage. Forecast demand to optimize purchasing decisions and avoid overstocking or running out of key supplies. Cost Management & Budgeting: Develop and manage purchasing budgets for various departments, ensuring compliance with financial goals. Track purchasing expenses, analyse trends, and recommend cost-saving opportunities. Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or service standards. Work closely with department heads (e.g., executive chefs, venue managers) to understand supply needs and ensure requirements are met. Communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors to resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or quality concerns. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, including safety standards, health codes, and environmental guidelines. Maintain accurate and organized records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications for auditing and reporting purposes. Review and adhere to company policies regarding purchasing procedures and ethical sourcing. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role, ideally in the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of hospitality-specific supplies and equipment (e.g., food, beverages, linens, cleaning products). Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficient in purchasing software and (Excel, Word, etc.). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external vendors. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
