Are you looking to build a career in supply chain operations while gaining hands-on experience? Cloncurry Shire Council is offering an opportunity for a Junior Purchasing and Stores Officer, where you’ll receive practical training while supporting Council’s procurement and operational needs. What We Offer: A full-time opportunity. Hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain operations. Competitive salary and benefits under the Local Government (QLD State) Award. A 38-hour work week, with seasonal hours: Summer: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Winter: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Access to Council’s Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement. Work at Council's Stores, Henry Street Depot. What You’ll Do: Support Council’s procurement processes and operational needs. Assist with inventory management and purchasing activities. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Work across various Council departments and locations. Develop skills in Microsoft Office and administrative tasks. Provide courteous and professional customer service. What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a motivated individual with: A Higher School Certificate. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Good organisational and administrative abilities with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Qualifications Needed: Mandatory: Must have a manual driver’s licence. Current Police Clearance or able to get one. Desirable: Forklift Licence (Can be done as part of role).
