About us Morphettville is a unique and vibrant entertainment destination, the home of the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) and thoroughbred racing; and an exciting entertainment destination in metropolitan Adelaide. In addition to racing on a weekly basis, Morphettville is a diverse multipurpose entertainment venue able to host a wide array of events including weddings, conferences, expos, markets and birthdays. Morphettville features a variety of function rooms and events space and is able to host events seven days a week for small to large groups, including the brand new and recently opened Wolf Blass Event Centre, with over 1000 seats of capacity across two levels, overlooking the racecourse and Adelaide Hills. The Opportunity The Reception & Sales Assistant is the first point of contact for all Morphettville staff and customers via telephone or face to face. As such it is essential that the individual in this role is pleasant, courteous, highly professional, and able to interact with a wide and diverse consumer group. The incumbent will have the ability to deliver friendly, welcoming, high-quality, and efficient service to clients and members, supporting the sales team with bookings, enquiries, and managing all related activities effectively. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will have proven experience in customer service and reception, including (but not limited to): Welcoming guests, answering inquiries, notifying staff of visitors, and processing payments. Managing mail, supplies, calendars, preparation for meetings and conferences. Assisting with processing membership applications and renewals. Coordinating race-day activities, handling ticketing and inquiries, and assisting staff administratively as required. Supporting the sales team by responding to customer inquiries, processing bookings, updating records, and following up on events. Helping with office upkeep, emergency procedures, meetings, and various tasks. Regularly identifying and implementing improvements in relation to customer service standards for the reception role. Our ideal candidate will have Previous experience in Customer Service, Sales or Reception, with advanced data entry and administration skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, acting as the face of the company. Excellent time management, organizational abilities, and high attention to detail. Ability to work independently, show initiative, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work primarily on a Tuesday-to-Saturday roster, as well as public holidays.
