The Peel Development Commission is a statutory authority established in 1994 by the Western Australian State Government under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. The Commission is one of nine regional development commissions across the State. About the opportunity There is currently one (1) permanent full time position available for immediate filling. As a Regional Data Management Officer, you will conduct research and collate complex information and data to support the planning and implementation of community and economic development programs and projects across regional WA, in line with objectives of the Western Australian Regional Development Alliance (WARDA). Your work will support the success of various initiatives, helping to drive regional development across Western Australia. We are looking for individuals with: Demonstrated experience in the collection, interpretation and presentation of bespoke, complex economic and social data from a diverse range of National and State sources, including the ability to evaluate information, identify issues and trends, and contextualise these into regional development objectives. Employment Conditions and Additional Information Regional Development Commission staff, including this position, are employees of DPIRD assigned to the Regional Development Commission under a staffing arrangement (section 29, Regional Development Commission Act 1993). DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies. Am I eligible to apply? To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application. You will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment. If not currently held, this must be acquired prior to appointment at applicant’s expense. This process may be used to fill other same/similar fixed term, permanent, vacancies that arise in DPIRD at locations listed in this advert. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the approval of the initial recruitment decision.
