Job Description About the Role As an AOD Nurse, you will be responsible for improving the health of detainees who suffer from addiction to alcohol and other drugs by providing comprehensive, sustainable primary health care and facilitating holistic recovery from their addiction within a multidisciplinary team, in consideration of the individual’s mental and physical health. Key Responsibilities Work in collaboration with the primary health care team to ensure a multidisciplinary, coordinated and integrated approach to service delivery. Participate in the assessment, planning, and implementation of care based on individual detainee AOD needs incorporating a holistic approach to primary health care service delivery. Undertake a wide range of clinical duties including but not limited to AOD health assessments, care planning, medication administration, health promotion, and education, ensuring care is evidence-based and delivered using clinical guidelines and practices to underpin competency. Ensure participation in relevant training and professional development for supporting high quality nursing. Qualifications General unrestricted registration by AHPRA as Registered Nurse (Division 1). Post-graduate qualification in drug and alcohol-related health that is University-issued and is at an Australian Qualification Framework Level 8 or higher and/or demonstrated experience in the assessment and delivery of drug and alcohol related health care. Experience: At least five (5) years of clinical experience with health needs related to alcohol and other drugs. Knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in the delivery of drug and alcohol related health services and the ability to understand and apply relevant Commonwealth and State legislation, policies, standards, guidelines, and frameworks to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations.
