The Role Norwest Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care to join our established and rapidly growing Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal nursing team. As a Registered Nurse of the Surgical B Ward, your responsibilities will include: Providing evidenced based pre and post-operative nursing care to Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal patients Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team including the Neurosurgical Registrar, Orthopaedic Spinal Fellows and Allied Health Professionals to achieve excellence in patient’s clinical outcomes and hospital experience Ensuring excellence in patient and staff safety at a ward based level by contributing to Surgical B’s Quality Management Plan. Supervising, directing and guiding nursing team members; including Enrolled Nurses (ENs), Assistants in Nursing (AINs) and Student Nurses (SN) to deliver patient care Participating in and delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery The Department Our Surgical B Ward comprises of 37 beds and is supported by the Nursing Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Allied Health Team. What you'll need to succeed Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Surgical ward (Neurosurgery/ Orthopaedics desirable) Post graduate qualification in Neuroscience/Orthopaedic Nursing (or working towards) Commitment to Quality Patient Care Knowledge of and compliance with ACQSHC National standards Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Works well independently and within a team Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends What you’ll get in return Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Close to shopping centre and public transport Reduced car park rates Why Healthscope? If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
