THE POSITION The hospital has an opportunity for Psychiatry Registrars to join their team. Expand your skills, knowledge, and confidence. They have positions available commencing in August 2023 and February 2024. Work with some of Perth’s leading Consultants in a busy unit comprising of multiple wards: Emergency Department Adult Acute Mental Health Ward and Secure Ward Older Adult Mental Health Ward The unit provides multidisciplinary care to all patients on the wards and Emergency Medicine department based on an individualised care model. It also maintains strong links with community mental health services, other primary health care providers and social services to ensure patients receive ongoing care after leaving hospital. The multi-disciplinary team on the ward is well resourced and includes medical, nursing staff, psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist and has pastoral care. Successful applicants will rotate between inpatient teams and emergency department where they will be required to participate in a roster, including days, afternoons and night shifts. The successful candidate will have: A willingness and capacity to embrace the hospitals Mission and Values Graduate of an Australian Medical Council (AMC) accredited Medical School or equivalent. Eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in hospital medicine, including experience in psychiatry Proven highly developed interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate clinical and procedural experience commensurate with clinical responsibilities of a Registrar. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrate a record of professional behaviour (certificate of good standing) Commitment to our service ethos. To act in accordance with the standards of behaviour outlined in the hospitals Care Code of Conduct. Have an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace. Take all actions to avoid, eliminate or minimise hazards. Promote a positive safety culture.
