As a Regulatory Advisor / Industry Development Lead , you will be instrumental in influencing energy policy, driving regulatory compliance, and leading industry engagement. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in energy regulation and a passion for advocating forward-thinking energy solutions. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Engagement : Represent the organisation in regulatory discussions, submissions, and consultations to influence policy outcomes. Industry Advocacy : Build strong relationships with industry bodies, government agencies, and regulatory authorities to advance strategic objectives. Policy Development : Provide expert advice on emerging regulations and industry trends, identifying opportunities and risks for the business. Strategic Initiatives : Lead initiatives that enhance the organisation’s regulatory positioning and align with business growth strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and commercial teams, to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Thought Leadership : Represent the organisation at forums, panels, and industry events, showcasing thought leadership in energy innovation. Requirements Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Law, Policy, Economics, Business, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous. Experience : Proven track record in regulatory affairs, policy development, or industry advocacy within the energy or utilities sector. Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of energy markets, retail operations, and regulatory frameworks in Australia. Stakeholder Engagement : Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and policy makers. Analytical Skills : Proficient in interpreting complex regulatory documents and providing actionable insights. Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing detailed submissions and reports.
