About the Role The Renal Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a Registered Nurse with advanced clinical expertise in Nephrology. This specialist role involves the clinical management and coordination of renal patients under the SVHM Nephrology team, providing expert knowledge and complex decision-making support. The purpose of the role is to provide clinical expertise, consultancy and education through advanced clinical leadership in collaboration with the 10East and Dialysis Nurse Unit Managers. Position Duties Provide knowledge and guidance for individual care across renal replacement therapies including peritoneal dialysis, haemodialysis, transplantation and supportive care. Effectively manage the coordination of care and treatment of inpatient nephrology patients. Act as clinical resource and support to nursing staff including evaluation of nursing practice and knowledge. Engage with continuous improvement including development and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Classifications for this position will range from ZA7 - ZA8 ($125,288 - $128,268 per annum, pro rata). Your Contribution Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Current Nursing AHPRA registration. Post Graduate qualification in renal nursing. Minimum five years experience in acute renal nursing or related clinical specialty. Commitment to providing excellent clinical care. Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and to interact as part of a multidisciplinary team. The team comprises of the acute renal ward, specialist nurses, renal consultants, transplant and vascular access surgeons, social work, mental health support, dietician, nurse practitioners and dialysis staff.
