Reference: 6480 Job posted: 23/01/2025 Closes: 09/02/2025 Classification: STS7 Salary Range: $182,813 - $248,629 Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria. About the opportunity Are you a visionary leader with a passion for requirements management and systems engineering? If so, SRLA invites you to take the lead in shaping one of Victoria’s most ambitious infrastructure projects! Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, your key responsibilities will include: Leading and mentoring the Requirements team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and professional excellence. Building strong relationships with stakeholders, while effectively communicating complex technical concepts, ensuring stakeholder alignment and buy-in on requirements management strategies and objectives. Advising on the development and implementation of the Requirements Management Plan and Requirements Management Framework. Administering the DOORS Next Generation database and contract management, ensuring the software is adequately supported, licences availability is guaranteed, and the software is fit for purpose for SRLA and its contractors. Driving the continuous improvement of the Requirements Management and associated Configuration Management Frameworks. Collaborating with technical experts to innovate and enhance requirements management and associated configuration management processes. Reviewing requirements verification reports to support the organisation’s system assurance reports at key project milestones. Championing requirements change management initiatives, promoting the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction. This is a permanent, full-time role. You will work in a hybrid work model with access to a range of flexible working arrangements. Minimum Requirements Strong leadership skills to lead high performing teams, build capability, motivate others, meet tight deadlines and create a safe work environment. Experience in developing and implementing robust requirements management processes across major rail infrastructure projects or complex multidiscipline projects. Clear understanding of integrated hierarchical requirements environments from stakeholder level and decomposition through system, sub-system and lower-level requirements. Experience in working within a DOORS Next Generation environment to capture and manage requirements and traceability. Experience in defining, documenting and implementing requirements schema and change and configuration management processes. Excellent interpersonal skills to build, maintain and influence strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and negotiate and converse with stakeholders at all levels. Outstanding communication and computer literacy skills to compile concise, authoritative and high-quality material, and produce professional, technical and high-quality documentation of a complex nature. Experience or competence in managing requirements in IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management DOORS Next. A Bachelor degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic or a cognate discipline.
