Research Assistant ARC Discovery Project Who are we looking for? We are seeking a Research Assistant ARC Discovery Project to join the School of Design, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice. The Research Assistant will work as part of the Australian Research Council Discovery Project ‘Valuing the Handmade: Investigating a Place-Based and Regenerative Approach to Circular Fashion and Textile Economies’, a collaboration between RMIT and Queensland University of Technology. This ARC Discovery project aims to investigate the value of the handmade within fashion and textile ecosystems in two Australian states. The project expects to generate new knowledge in the area of circular economy by using place-based approaches to foreground experiences of small businesses and craft communities that are typically excluded from the industrial view of a circular economy. What you need to succeed Education, training and/or qualifications equivalent to a degree in Fashion, Design or Creative Industries or related field in conjunction with exceptional relevant experience; OR a post-graduate qualification with limited relevant experience (desired). Demonstrated experience in conducting ethical procedures and qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders internal and external to QUT, as well as work autonomously. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated organization skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks within agreed deadlines. Experience in and/or knowledge of circular economy, fashion design and/or fashion communication.
