Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas. The main focus of the Cancer and Stem Cell Laboratory is to study how normal stem cells are transformed into cancer stem cells and to develop effective new therapies that specifically target and eradicate malignant stem cells. These cells, which are often resistant to chemotherapy, are now believed to be the engine driving the growth of cancer and the root cause of treatment resistance and relapse. We are currently seeking to appoint a Research Associate in Cancer Therapy , especially with prior experience in immunotherapy. In this research role, you will use animal models and advanced technologies, including single-cell omics, gene-editing, and nanoparticles, to develop novel targeted therapy for cancer. Primary responsibilities of this role: Conduct research or scholarly activity independently to develop innovative cancer therapy. Produce and contribute to high quality publications. Achieve an outstanding level of competence in all aspects of experimental work. Assist with planning and coordination of research efforts. Present research data at conferences, seminars, and lab meetings. Train, supervise, and guide junior employees and students on a day-to-day basis. Strictly comply with regulatory guidelines (including OGTR and ethics) and Institute policies. Participate in weekend and public holiday work where it is required. Travel between the university facilities if needed. Key skills Excellent attention to detail. Excellent time management. Excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated initiative. Ability to meet deadlines. Highly developed interpersonal skills. About you Prior experience in animal disease models and immunotherapy is highly desired. Demonstrated ability to conduct experiments independently or with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to generate reproducible, high quality research results. Demonstrated ability to develop new techniques and use the latest technology in research projects. Demonstrated commitment to conducting experiments involving animals & GMO’s under strict ethical and regulatory guidelines. Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and respect for others.
