Research Fellow/Associate - Prehospital Emergency Care Job Reference: 964751 About the Role Join the Curtin School of Nursing as a Research Associate/Research Fellow in an exciting programme of research funded by NHMRC and St John WA. This is a full-time opportunity with a fixed-term contract lasting until December 2026 – part-time work arrangements may be considered. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of investigators focused on analysing clinical cohort studies that aim to improve prehospital and emergency care.In this position, you will engage with a network of professionals, including staff and research partners at St John Ambulance in Belmont, Perth. Candidates must be prepared to handle sensitive and potentially distressing data, reflecting the serious nature of the research undertaken.The successful candidate will be based at Curtin University’s Technology Park, specifically within the Prehospital, Resuscitation and Emergency Care Research Unit (PRECRU).Selection Criteria If applying for the Research Fellow, you are required to hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant health discipline. If applying for the Research Associate, you must hold a relevant postgraduate degree. Experience in analysing large data sets, including multivariable modelling. A proven record of research outputs published in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals or outlets appropriate to the discipline. Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a commitment to fostering a collegial and supportive working environment. The ability to interact sensitively with students and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds. A demonstrated commitment to data security and confidentiality. Desirable Previous experience in the management/analysis of sensitive data Role Requirements: As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role. Your new Team: Curtin School of Nursing The Prehospital, Resuscitation and Emergency Care Research Unit (PRECRU), within the Curtin School of Nursing is a collaborative research endeavour with St John WA. A team of multidisciplinary researchers conduct clinical epidemiological research to improve outcomes for out-of-hospital emergency care patients. A major programme of research involves the analysis of data from the St John WA / PRECRU out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) database. Other projects in progress include the linguistic analysis of the Triple-Zero (‘000’) ambulance calls, spatial analysis of emergency events and analysis of the St John WA Urgent Care Centres data.
