Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description Part time, fixed term contract for 1 year Assist in strategic development of real-time frailty monitoring technology to improve care for older Australians Base Salary from $95,644 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Sydney Pharmacy School is a globally recognised leading centre for pharmacy research and education. Our teams of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy, across a range of therapeutic areas. Frailty increases with age. People living with frailty need specialised health care to provide the most benefit with least risk of harm. Guidelines strongly recommend screening all older people for frailty. This informs appropriate clinical care and helps plan resources to meet their needs. The research team led by Professor Melissa Baysari and Dr Lisa Kouladjian O'Donnell aims to use human factors and co-design methods to determine how best to report on frailty screening in hospital to improve care of frail older people (Phase 2). This research is part of a national Medical Research Futures Fund (MRFF) funded grant led by Professor Sarah Hilmer at the Kolling Institute that aims to develop and strategically implement technology to calculate the frailty index for all older inpatients in real-time and use this to improve individual patient care and to optimise health services. The University is seeking to employ a Research Support Officer to assist with Phase 2 of the project - to generate functional requirements for each intervention such as dashboards/reports, requirements for organisational changes and potentially revised work processes. We will develop potential design solutions for each user group with prototypes presented to clinicians, consumers and managers via a series of co-design workshops. Prototypes will be modified iteratively based on user feedback. The position will be based across both the University of Sydney Camperdown Campus and the Kolling Institute, with onsite visits to hospitals across NSW. Your key responsibilities will be to: Lead and optimise research projects, ensuring methodologies are refined and research goals are met, including ethics and governance applications, coordinating and conducting data collection from clinicians in hospitals from multiple sites. Oversee the lifecycle of grant applications, from conceptualisation to final reporting, ensuring optimal funding acquisition. Provide advice on research direction, updating the team on the latest research methodologies and compliance requirements. Coordinate data management processes, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting that drives research insights. Strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, enhancing research collaborations and joint initiatives. Streamline administrative processes, ensuring efficient management of research documentation, publications, and compliance paperwork. Take the lead in handling stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond. Facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with managers to advance compliance initiatives. Coordinate purchasing processes and resolve any discrepancies in payment schedules. Champion a proactive approach to health and safety, review and provide feedback on work area protocols, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent safety standards across tasks and projects. Undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required. About you Clinical qualification or bachelor's degree in related field Proven experience in managing, reporting, and disseminating research data Experience in multisite ethics and governance ability Able to conduct observational interviews in hospitals in and out of Sydney Willing to travel within NSW Excellent communication skills in clinical environment Experience working in a clinical environment, ideally in a hospital.
