Alfred Health Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. The Department Alfred Health Emergency cares for the local communities of Southern and Bayside Melbourne as well as for the broader Victorian community due to the large number of state-wide clinical services. Care is delivered through our two campuses: The Alfred Eva and Les Erdi Emergency and Trauma Centre (E&TC) and Sandringham Hospital Emergency Department (SHED). Together these two sites see and treat in excess of 110,000 patients per annum. Alfred Health Emergency (AHE) is used to describe all services provided by medical, nursing, allied health, clerical, and many other services to patients presenting to these two sites. The Role We are currently seeking an exceptionally organised Research Team Assistant to manage coordination of research activities for our department, and to support the research team at the Alfred Emergency Academic Centre (AEAC). The position is 0.8 - full time, predominately working from the Alfred Hospital, Prahran with flexibility to work from home occasionally. Travel to other campuses Alfred Health and/or Monash University may be required and there may be a requirement to work additional hours from time to time. Key Responsibilities The Research Team Assistant provides a variety of high-quality research services to support the operations of the Alfred Health Emergency Services (The Alfred and Sandringham) Research teams. Research and administrative support tasks including facilitating development of research protocols under instruction from principal investigators, HREC submissions, patient recruitment, patient follow-ups, research data governance, assisting with reports, ethics and grant application and publications. Coordinate emergency research unit meetings and collate data required for multiple reporting needs. Act as Committee Secretariat for multiple meetings. Coordinate the identification, implementation, training and management of software tools required by the research team. Provide education (relevant to key responsibilities) to other team members/patient/families related to specific research activities. Support senior researchers with diary and inbox management as required. Obtain and document clinical trial data information into required data collection systems (paper/electronic/online web-based databases) with excellent attention to detail. Qualifications and Experience Required Previous experience in health care or research administration or evidence of transferrable skills. Demonstrated reflective and critical analysis abilities. Open, flexible and innovative attitude. Exceptional professional integrity and accountability. Strong organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time and plan work to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy and an understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. A high level of computer literacy, including demonstrated experience in learning and adopting new software packages as required. Foundational knowledge of research administration, highly valued but not essential. A qualification in a relevant field or evidence of commitment to continuing professional development (to be justified via the written application process).
