Role Purpose The key purpose of the Retail Partnerships Manager is to work closely with the Head of Marketing Operations to develop and implement retailer engagement programs for Vicinity Marketing to support retailer success. The role involves developing and maintaining a strategic outreach and relationship management program to support both B2B retailer initiatives and B2C marketing strategies. Working closely with the National Campaign team, you will identify, connect, and maintain key retailer partnerships that will enable the success of marketing campaigns for our asset segments. The role is responsible for the ongoing support and amplification of our retail partners marketing initiatives, understanding opportunities and roadblocks, and developing plans to support including but not limited to, leveraging our centre’s owned channels for the promotion of our retailer’s offers, news and events and coordinating with centre-based Marketing Executives for bespoke opportunities as required. Key Accountabilities All elements of the annual performance cycle are completed by the due date (including goal setting, mid-year reviews, EOY conversations) Regular 1:1’s, team meetings and development conversations conducted - minimum monthly cadence Performance issues are managed in an effective and timely manner Quarterly development conversations conducted with all team members 100% of compliance training is completed on time for team All health and safety, risk and compliance requirements are delivered across the team Effective management of budgets as per forecast with demonstrated focus on managing cost Demonstrated commitment to building own capability as a people leader Build and maintain retailer relationships with key retail partners Identify and understand key retailer partner’s opportunities and pain points to develop and/or incorporate consumer marketing programs Work in conjunction with the National Campaign team and Sponsorship and Partnership Manager to identify and assess partnership opportunities for consumer engagement programs Support the development of leasing product, collateral and materials as required Oversee the management of the Retailer CRM Understand retail marketing opportunities and support the amplification of these through our owned channels or through the development of a media bundle with paid opportunities. Own Vicinity Marketing’s key retailer relationships, interacting regularly to understand their business and proactively identify opportunities. Key Role Relationships Head of Marketing Operations (Line Manager) Retail Partnerships Coordinator (Direct report) National Campaign team Brand and Marketing team Marketing Executives Digital Marketing team Digital Product team Leasing team Retail partners Experience & Capabilities ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE You have the ability, agility and appetite to understand and deliver tailored and customised campaigns to support different retail segments and consumer needs You have proven success in relationship management and understanding a partner's business opportunities and threats You have a broad understanding of the marketing mix, ideally with exposure and expertise gained in shopping centres or the retail industry. You will be accustomed to navigating a large complex and geographically diverse organisation. You will have proven success in either leading or supporting campaign management/delivery teams with demonstrated ability to partner & collaborate to drive operational efficiency and optimise all aspects of the campaign from in-centre to digital. You will have the ability to co-create campaigns to deliver across multiple objectives, leverage insights and overcome various hurdles and considerations. You can effectively brief subject matter experts and/or agencies on different aspects of a campaign and help shape the proposed solution/response, adding value and ensuring acute attention to detail in the proposed delivery. A marketing degree is highly desirable. CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE Strong foundational end-to-end marketing knowledge Understanding of the retail and/or shopping centre environment and operations, or ability to develop understanding quickly CAPABILITIES Excellent stakeholder management skills with an ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with external stakeholders Effective communicator and excellent collaborator to achieve the best outcomes Ability to lead and influence to achieve an aligned & considered approach Ability to design and put in place systems to streamline communication and collection/disbursement of information to multiple stakeholders Ability to work under pressure, multitask and manage competing priorities Ability to overcome challenges and find solutions Able to present to stakeholders at meetings, prepare an agenda, present to a wide audience Understanding of go-to-market requirements, translating consumer insights and trade area information into B2B leasing materials, including copywriting and proofing skills.
