Personnel Area: Transport for Brisbane Branch: Engineering and Asset Management Salary Range: The position attracts a competitive remuneration and benefits package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate Work type: Permanent Full-time Join Brisbane City Council’s Transport for Brisbane team as a Senior Electrical Maintenance Officer, where you’ll work with innovative electrical infrastructure supporting Brisbane Metro and the battery electric bus fleet. Step off the tools into an office-based role focusing on high-voltage operations, maintenance management and asset integrity. Based in Brisbane's CBD, this position offers flexible work arrangements, a free gym, and a chance to contribute to the future of green transport. Our Business Transport for Brisbane (TfB) division operates and maintains one of the largest public transport fleets in Australia to deliver public transport services for the people living, working, and visiting the City of Brisbane. Through contracts with the State Government and private organisations we provide clean, convenient, and effective transport options on bus, CityCat, ferry, e-bike, e-scooter, and Brisbane Metro, our latest modern fleet of battery electric vehicles. Our Branch The Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for maintenance of bus fleet and charging infrastructure. The branch provides technical support for delivery of new electric bus depots, procures bus fleet, products, and services; and coordinates major projects and divisional ICT requirements. Our newest responsibility is the management of electrical assets and infrastructure associated with Brisbane Metro. You You are an experienced and enthusiastic high voltage electrician who is looking to move into an office-based planning role, while keeping your hand in with fault response, high voltage operations and contractor supervision. You have attention to detail, communicate well and are serious about safety and quality. In this role you will: Perform high-voltage operations Support system availability and respond to faults for critical electrical infrastructure Work across diverse technologies, from power converters to industrial automation networks Inspect assets and develop maintenance plans with a view to continual improvement Manage asset records, work orders and spare parts inventory in SAP Play a leading role in coordinating and supervising field maintenance and contractors in a dynamic transport environment Benefit from a central office location with minimal travel, as most sites are in and around the CBD. To be successful you will have: Experience in planning and supervision of electrical maintenance and operations for industrial, resources, transport or utility assets Experience in LV and HV electrical switching, fault response and service recovery Ability to manage contractors, coordinate site access, and ensure safety and quality compliance Proficiency in IT systems for planning and incident management Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and produce detailed reports and documentation Queensland electrical licence (electrical mechanical and electrical fitter) "C" Class driver’s licence.
