We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Student Services Officer to join our team at St John Bosco College. This position is a full-time (44 weeks) ongoing position, commencing asap in Term 1, 2025. St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational College in its eleventh year of operation. The College is situated in Piara Waters, a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. We commenced in 2015 with students from Kindergarten to Year 2. In 2025, we have 1350 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, as well as an OSHC facility and an Aboriginal Families as First Educators Playgroup. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which support best practice, 21st century teaching and learning methods. Our outstanding facilities include an Early Learning Centre, Junior Primary and Upper Primary studios, grass play areas, junior and senior ovals, soccer and hockey pitch and multi-purpose hard court play areas, enclosed Assembly Space, library, Science Learning Centre, a two-storey Arts and Technology Learning Centre, Middle Learning Centre, dedicated Administration and ample parking. In 2024, we opened our College Sport and Recreation Centre and a new two-storey Secondary Learning Centre, with construction on our College Cafeteria due for completion early this year. The College motto “JOY IN LEARNING” is strongly exemplified in the person, life and teachings of our patron, St John Bosco. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Student Services Officer is the first point of contact for students at the College. This staff member is responsible for the administration of student attendance, general student enquiries and the transition of new students into the College, as well as other tasks important to the smooth operation of St John Bosco College. This position requires the delivery of comprehensive services for students and regularly liaising with students, families and the community. The position also involves providing administrative support to members of the College Leadership Team. SPECIAL SKILLS Special skills are needed to be involved in a Foundation College and applications are invited from applicants who possess the following attributes: Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of Catholic Education and St John Bosco College and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Bosco community. Have a commitment to Child Safety and Protection consistent with the CEWA Child Safe Framework. Be a creative, flexible and enthusiastic administrator who manages all student and family enquiries with confidentiality and who will work collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and engage in one-to-one pastoral conversations with students and families. Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills. Demonstrate the capacity and enthusiasm to build community by participating in College activities in collaboration with staff, parents, students and the St Francis Xavier Parish. Possess a high level of personal integrity and credibility, as well as maintain utmost confidentiality. Have demonstrated experience that would assist in the administration of a College, including assisting the College Leadership Team with administration. The capacity to organise and schedule tasks efficiently, work quickly and adhere to deadlines. Be an enthusiastic and cooperative team person who will work collaboratively with all staff. Administer first aid to students and staff in attendance at sickbay. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical information on SEQTA. Monitor attendance and communicate with staff and parents. Participate actively in ongoing professional learning. DESIRABLE Previous experience in a receptionist/administration position in an educational environment. Possess a demonstrated ability to use and knowledge of school/college database systems such as Office 365, AOS, SEQTA and across various computer programs relevant to office administration. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED A willingness to complete Accreditation requirements as specified by Catholic Education WA. A current Senior First Aid Certificate. A current National Police History Check as issued by the Department of Education Western Australia must also be included. The appropriate Criminal History Record Check form is available from the Department of Education website. On appointment, successful applicants will require a Working with Children Check.
