Job Description We are seeking a passionate, self-driven and organised individual with high attention to detail to join our team as a Safety and Security Supervisor. Specific responsibilities of this role will include: Supervising the team and coordinating security services for the Centre as needed and/or directed. Supervising the day-to-day operations of Property Operations Systems, including the Building Management System and CCTV system. Ensuring that both department and company policies and procedures are being observed by all team members and developing new procedures where relevant to security and safety. Investigating and reporting on all major incidents within the Centre and liaising with relevant department managers on incidents as required. Working with the management team to identify safety and security concerns, generate ideas, and contribute to the overall safety and security strategy. Conducting spot safety checks on external contractors. Assisting in the coordination of training and development for the department, including delivering training where necessary. Developing strong rapport with all team members, visitors, and patrons. Hours of Work Full-time position, with a minimum of 38 hours per week and occasional overtime. Rostered shifts will include a mixture of early mornings, days, and nights to meet the demands of the business. ABOUT YOU! A Senior First Aid Certificate, QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol Statement of Attainment, and a QLD Security Licence with the following qualifications – Security Officer (unarmed), Crowd Controller, Security Officer (control room), and Security Officer (monitoring) are essential for this role. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess: Previous experience in a large venue, ideally within an entertainment environment Demonstrated leadership skills, ideally acquired in a security or customer-focused environment with 2+ years of experience Proven conflict resolution, conflict negotiation, and crowd control skills Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to write reports, communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds, and work with team members from all departments A proven ability to provide and follow instructions, remaining calm and acting professionally under demanding situations An appreciation of and awareness of work health and safety legislation and practices Previous experience in operating and monitoring a Building Management System, particularly CCTV Strong computer literacy skills, particularly within the Microsoft Suite The ability to work a rotating roster as described below A positive and productive performance record, with no history of performance management and/or disciplinary action WHY WORK WITH US? “It’s not what we do, it’s how we do it”!
