We’re expanding our team and looking for a dynamic and technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our growing sales force. Position Overview: As a Sales Engineer specialising in bridge expansion joints, you will play a key role in driving the growth of our business by connecting our products with engineers, contractors, and infrastructure professionals in the transportation and civil engineering sectors. Your engineering background will be essential in providing technical support, explaining product features, and ensuring our clients understand the best solutions for their bridge expansion joint needs. Work hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm Work location: Australian Bridge Products office at Burleigh Heads Remuneration: To commensurate with experience Key Responsibilities: Sales Development: Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers in the civil engineering and transportation sectors, including local councils, state and territory governments, civil contractors, and consultants. Research: Identify new project opportunities through the use of online platforms such as BCI, Estimate One and local government estimating programs. Technical Support: Leverage your engineering knowledge to provide expert advice on the selection, design, and application of bridge expansion joints based on client needs. Product Presentations: Present our product offerings in a clear and engaging manner to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating the value and performance advantages of our solutions. Project Management: Oversee sales projects from initial inquiry through to product delivery, ensuring client specifications are met and expectations are exceeded. Collaboration: Work closely with our sales and manufacturing team to deliver customized solutions and support the product development process. Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer requirements to identify new sales opportunities and refine strategies through online platforms such as Linked In. Customer Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with clients by offering exceptional service and fostering trust in our products and brand. Qualifications: Educational Background: A degree in Engineering (Civil). Experience: 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, ideally within the civil infrastructure, or engineering sectors. Experience as a contractor administrator or estimator within the civil industry would be beneficial. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of bridge construction and maintenance, particularly in the area of expansion joints, bearings and structural components. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and previous experience using estimating software is essential. Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Sales Acumen: Proven track record of success in sales, with a consultative approach to solving customer problems and delivering value. Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify customer needs and propose effective solutions.
