Job Description

Exciting Role - Permanent, Part-time, Woolloongabba | Apply scientific expertise and regulatory knowledge to support quality services, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role This position supports the Pathology Queensland – PAH Group laboratories in maintaining and enhancing their Quality Management Framework to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, accreditation standards (e.g., NATA, TGA, ISO 9001, and ASHI), and the delivery of high-quality services. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining policies and procedures, coordinating and supporting compliance audits, and facilitating continual improvement initiatives. The role involves providing expert advice on quality systems, assisting with root cause investigations, and ensuring effective use of the Quality Improvement System (QIS). Additionally, the position supports staff training on quality principles, prepares performance reports, and delivers data-driven insights to local management teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to design and document integrated business processes. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaborating with staff and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and driving a culture of quality and improvement. A Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification, combined with significant pathology laboratory experience, is required. Advanced proficiency in quality systems and tools, including MS Excel and MS Word, is highly desirable, along with a commitment to fostering professional excellence and compliance within the laboratory environment.
