The opportunity: As a Secondary Systems Support Engineer , you will be responsible for testing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and repairing complex secondary systems equipment. You will enjoy providing best practice engineering advice to our business; responsible for approving various technical design, procedural, and specification documents, as well as offering day-to-day engineering guidance. Specifically, you will: Provide engineering advice and technical support to field staff for testing, commissioning, maintaining, and diagnosing faults on secondary systems, ensuring safe and cost-effective installation, operation, and maintenance of Powerlink secondary systems. Develop, review and implement robust fit for purpose systems and methodologies to be used by Powerlink staff to ensure safe and effective installation, operation and maintenance of Powerlink secondary systems and digital networks. Assist in the development of standards and technical strategies for substation secondary systems and digital networks. Perform investigations and report on issues relating to the integrity of substation secondary systems and digital networks, providing technical advice and recommendations to ensure appropriate corrective actions Deliver technical engineering support to field teams and other internal stakeholders, ensuring outcomes meet business and customer requirements The people you'll join: Based in Brisbane, you will be an integral part of the Operational Engineering division, reporting directly to the Principal Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cost-effective and reliable operation of the Powerlink transmission network. What you'll bring: Bachelor in Electrical, Electrical and Computing, or Mechatronics Engineering Eligibility for Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) registration You will demonstrate expertise in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of High Voltage substation equipment, secondary systems, and digital networks. Your proven track record in maintaining and managing risks for substation equipment, secondary systems, and digital network assets will be essential. With experience in providing expert technical support to field teams, you will be well-versed in the software, protocols, and architecture associated with secondary systems and digital networks. You will effectively apply your knowledge to achieve delivery outcomes, adapting and recommending work methodologies to support business objectives.
