About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for a Vocational Major Teacher to join a senior secondary school in Melbourne's West. This part-time position (4 days per week) focuses on applied learning for Year 11 & 12 students, delivering Literacy, Numeracy, Work-Related, and Personal Development Skills. The role involves supporting students with work placements and hands-on learning experiences in a collaborative and supportive environment. VIT registration and a Cert IV in Training & Assessment are required. This rewarding position begins this Term and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' futures. Key duties: Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with VCAA requirements, focusing on applied learning models to meet diverse student needs - including all or a combination of Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related and Personal Development skills. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning journey. Assist students in securing relevant work placements, manage necessary documentation, and conduct workplace visits to enhance practical learning experiences. Engage with colleagues in team teaching, curriculum planning, and professional development activities to foster a collaborative educational environment. Provide pastoral care and mentorship, encouraging students to take personal responsibility and supporting their overall well-being. Maintain accurate records of student progress, participate in school meetings, and contribute to the continuous improvement of educational programs. Skills & Experience: Completed relevant Qualifications in Education Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration Hold certificate IV in Training and Assessment Have unrestricted working rights in Australia Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Vocational Major skills within a Secondary environment Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
