As our pipeline of work grows, we are seeking a Senior Associate, Civil Engineering to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. Ideally, you will have experience in the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines, with previous tasks including the review of design requirements, site investigations, calculations, modelling, oversight of drafting and the preparation of reports and specifications. Building strong client relationships and demonstrating your ability to understand our client's core business you will be able to provide solutions and service to clients both off and on site. With outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes for the business and our valuable clients you will have gained experience working in a consulting environment delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi office project team. To be successful in the role, you’ll be able to provide specialist knowledge, technical review and advice and technical leadership in your area of expertise, lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams whilst being able to deliver practical and economical solutions for clients. You will be a strong and clear communicator, able to communicate effectively and network with colleagues and clients and enjoy seeing the success of others by being a mentor and encourage excellent team performance and being able to build relationships. Your ideal skills and expertise: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related engineering discipline. Significant years of experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design. Knowledge of safety in design, constructability and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes. Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify project and design related risks. Experience in managing medium to large engineering design projects. A commitment to working safely, and within the company’s HSEQ systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences. Ability to travel on occasions as the work requires. The ability to write successful bids for existing and new clients.
