The Opportunity We have an exceptional, newly created opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Sydney Institutional Risk team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will play an integral part within our institutional risk practice, managing both unlitigated and litigated files, providing supervision to junior lawyers, and supporting the growth of the team. You will receive ongoing mentoring and development from two Principals, as well as support from the wider team. Key Responsibilities Managing a range of unlitigated and litigated historical abuse claims Foster and support strong client relationships (both insurance and in-house) Drafting and providing advice and manage files in a clear and logical manner within required timeframes Negotiating settlements, attending conferences, mediations, court and managing court processes An in-depth technical and functional expertise related to your practice area, including a keen eye for current and emerging trends in the sector Requirements 5+ years post-qualification experience A sound level of strategic and commercial awareness, coupled with your technical ability Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and other practitioners Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Your new team Our team is made up of highly skilled and dedicated legal professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients.
