Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. Reporting to the Group Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing and improving business processes, identifying areas for cost reduction, driving efficiency, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making across various departments. This role will require a strong understanding of the mining sector, financial analysis, data analytics, and project management to optimize business performance. The key responsibilities of this role include: Lead business analysis efforts to identify opportunities for operational improvement and cost-saving initiatives within our mining operations. Conduct detailed data analysis, financial modelling, and trend analysis to support business decision-making. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track mining operations' performance, efficiency, and profitability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, procurement, and production, to define business requirements and translate them into actionable solutions. Provide recommendations for optimizing workflows, resource allocation, and operational strategies. Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor performance to provide valuable insights for strategic planning. Create and maintain detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and business requirements. Support project management initiatives by defining project scope, tracking progress, and ensuring the successful delivery of key projects within budget and on time. Ensure alignment between business operations and IT systems, recommending technology solutions to streamline processes. Act as a subject matter expert on business operations, providing support to senior management with data-driven insights to inform key decisions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying new methodologies, tools, and techniques to improve business analysis and reporting. About You: Knowledge of mining software and ERP systems (Pronto desirable). Minimum of 5/7 years of experience in business analysis, with a preference for experience in the mining of natural resources industry. Strong proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, and performance metrics. Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL). Excellent understanding of business operations in a mining environment, including production, supply chain, and finance. Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into practical solutions. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and present complex information to non-technical audiences. Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Economics. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering accurate and actionable insights.
