The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager with strong technical expertise in the energy sector, to play a pivotal role in driving GS’s entrance into the Australian energy market as we continue our local sustainable growth journey. Based in the corporate head office located in Bourke Street Melbourne, your role will involve: Develop and implement effective business development strategies to expand the company’s footprint in the Australian energy sector. Identify and lead negotiations for new bid opportunities, leveraging your technical expertise to position GS with competitive and innovative bid packages. Oversee the bid team, delivering all bid related resources and documentation in line with agreed timelines. Liaise with the client throughout the project development and delivery phase, ensuring timely resolution of any project risks that arise, and maintaining an effective relationship throughout the project lifecycle. Keep abreast of market intelligence in transmission and renewable energy infrastructure, keeping ahead of the curve with upcoming tender opportunities. Actively engage potential partners, clients and government authorities, attending regular industry events and client visits to build long-term professional relationships and drive business growth. To be successful, you will have: Bachelor’s degree in business / engineering / project management or related discipline. Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Business Development or Strategic role within the Energy (Grid) sector, with comprehensive understanding of technical aspects, business models, regulatory frameworks and current Industry trends. Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, investors and clients. Ability to articulate value propositions and close complex, high value deals. Capability to develop and review commercial agreements, including Joint Venture Agreements. Proven ability to lead teams, collaborate cross-functionally and drive results.
