As a key member of our Practice, Quality and Risk team, the Senior Clinical Practitioner will bring their extensive experience as a Nurse Practitioner, a rich understanding of Aged Care practices and a passion for delivering high quality clinical aged care to lead and grow Catholic Healthcare’s clinical practice and leadership in particular wounds, infection and continence care. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, you will work collaboratively with the Senior Palliative Care Lead who is also a Nurse Practitioner, the broader professional and supportive Practice, Quality and Risk team to support Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Independent Living teams. Your exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills together with your curiosity to learn and share your expertise in wounds, incontinence and infection control, will be critical to your success in this varied role. Your days will include: Leading, developing and implementing contemporary, evidence-based wound, continence care and infection control policy and practices Providing expert clinical leadership and guidance to a team of healthcare professionals, older people, and families Serving as a resource and mentor for CHL Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare professionals seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in wound, continence care and infection control practices Fostering a culture of compassionate care and dignity for older people and their families Collaborating with Operations, Clinical Experts and Academics to develop wound management, pressure injury prevention (PIPP), continence and infection control programs Developing an implementation plan to establish, embed, and evaluate the programs Establishing facilities, systems, and processes to support billing and claiming for NP services The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and interpret information, effectively navigate teams and influence stakeholders to build clinical capability across the business, in addition to the following: Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by NMBA & Registered Nurse with AHPRA Demonstrated NP experience in aged care with wound specialty - Essential Advanced degree in nursing (Master’s degree or higher) Min 10 years clinical nursing experience, ideally in wound and pressure injury prevention Advanced holistic clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Confidence in using telehealth and other digital solutions to provide remote support and advice Proven leadership and commercial experience in a clinical setting, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff Knowledge of aged care and end-of-life care's legal and ethical considerations, including advance care directives, consent, and decision-making processes Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering projects Ability to travel as required Willingness to obtain Police Check What we can offer you as an employee of Catholic Healthcare: Not-for-profit tax benefits - pay less tax Fitness Passport - discounted gym benefits Paid Parental leave Paid Family leave, additional days off each year Long Service leave after 5 years A values-based organisation that welcomes applicants from all faiths and backgrounds If you’re looking for a role where you can make a positive impact in a rewarding organisation like ours, we’d love to hear from you.
