The Role The Senior Communications Lead works within a team of high-level communicators to manage and deliver engaging external communications, telling the stories around the services TasWater is delivering, to build a high level of trust and confidence with customers, stakeholders and the broader Tasmanian community. Manage a range of external communication projects, including their prioritisation, alignment to strategy and delivery. Provide support and expert advice on effective customer communications to strategic leaders, internal business partners and project owners. Build and manage trusted relationships between TasWater and media outlets. Identify and respond to emerging media opportunities and risks. Write and edit communications materials including media releases, editorials, fact sheets, backgrounding documents and Q&As for spokespersons as well as coordinate media events and alerts. Seek out and help tell unique and interesting stories from across the business. What we're looking for Your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria in the Position Description, summarised as follows: Formal vocational or tertiary qualifications in media, communications, public relations or equivalent demonstrated experience. Demonstrated experience in external communications within a complex organisation. Demonstrated understanding of Tasmanian media outlets and the political landscape in which TasWater operates. Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to adapt the TasWater tone of voice and style for different audiences. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly build rapport across a wide range of stakeholders. This role may be required to participate in after-hours work and is part of an on-call roster to ensure the continuity of service to TasWater’s customers. Some intrastate travel will be required. The Details This role will be based in Hobart and attracts a salary of $124,474 - $138,304 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
