This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Officer to join the Education Futures Institute, Capability branch, in the Queensland Department of Education.The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer will support the work of the EFI by developing key communications, learning materials and resources for capability development delivered by the Capability Branch.This temporary full-time vacancy is available until 30 June 2026, unless otherwise determined.About The Department Of Education The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. A key part of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, evidence-informed and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages.The EFI provides high quality, targeted professional learning for staff located in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations across the state. The EFI empowers staff with the skills, knowledge and capability to excel in their role.The EFI is a key system initiative in the department's education strategy, Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student.Your Role The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer plays a key role in: developing and managing communications plans, activities and resource development that support EFI Flagship Programs and other Capability Branch deliverables; managing Capability Branch strategic communications across the department, including but not limited to: ConnectED articles, OnePortal presence, webpages, screensavers, sliders, social media posts, email and other key communications. The Ideal Applicant Will be familiar with the DoE Editorial style guide, Government web publishing style guide and Australian government style manual; have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to liaise with a range of teams from across the department; be a collaborative team member with great attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills; have visionary skills, solve problems and manage tasks from a variety of teams; enjoy working with a diverse team to deliver outcomes and make a positive impact in education.
