About the opportunity Reporting to ‘Head of Construction’, the Senior Construction Manager for the Northern Region is responsible for leading the delivery of large-scale, high-value construction complex construction projects across Queensland, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory. What you’ll deliver with us You will ensure the successful execution of business-as-usual (BAU ), and business-critical projects, including new builds, facility refurbishments, and extensions, all within accelerated timelines. In addition to the oversight of third-party developer contractors, there will be self-build warehouse projects. This requires specialized expertise in due diligence, contract negotiation, and development management. You’ll also Overseeing a capital works program valued at over $100M annually, ensuring effective management of resources, timelines, and budgets across multiple concurrent projects Providing leadership and direction to external project management teams, contractors, and outsourced service providers Ensuring that projects meet Australia Post’s high standards for quality, safety, compliance, and community engagement, ensuring they meet Australia Post’s operational and customer satisfaction requirements Strong focus on managing risks, maintaining operational excellence and driving innovative solutions to construction challenges Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive project outcomes that support the organization's strategic goals About you Significant experience in managing large-scale construction projects, with a focus on industrial, logistics, and commercial developments. You’ll also need Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or any related field is preferred Over 10 years’ experience in managing and overseeing complex capital works programs and infrastructure development projects Strong expertise in contract negotiation, project management, and construction delivery methodologies Proven experience in self-build project management (predominantly Industrial) including Site Due Diligence and Cost Estimation, and a great understanding of Building Regulations & Safety Compliance How we’ll deliver for you Join one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse workforces in Australia, where we’re all ages and genders and come from all walks of life We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment, and Safety every day.
