Rabobank’s Credit Risk team has an opening for a Senior Credit Manager, Credit Approvals. This is a people leader role reporting to the Head of Credit Approvals, Australia. As Senior Manager, Credit Approvals, you will play a crucial role in maintaining risk appetite, governance, & direction of the Bank’s rural loans within the Country Banking network. Your influencing skills will be leveraged with front office staff at all levels in setting the conditions on which loans are to be approved &/or supported to higher authorities including Credit Committees. This role will support the portfolio for Victoria, Tasmania & Western Australia. The successful candidate can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Perth. Top Role Accountabilities: Act as a trusted advisor to the first line on credit applications & account management strategies to a range of stakeholders including rural banking staff. Assess credit submissions & reviews & provide feedback to rural banking staff on the decision. Approve loans within your delegation, aligning with the bank’s credit risk appetite. Provide guidance, coaching, and development to a small team of direct reports. Manage the day-to-day credit approval volumes to ensure efficient & timely turnaround. Oversee credit-related account administration including account excesses, overdue reviews, and account quality classification. Identify & address credit training gaps within your team & the front office. Continuously review & improve credit processes for operational efficiency. To be successful you will have: Experience in banking, with exposure to lending in Rural/Agricultural or Middle Market Commercial sectors. Exposure to Credit decisioning in these sectors is essential. Proven leadership skills in managing, coaching, & developing a small team. Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to analyse & interpret balance sheets, profit & loss, & cash flow statements. An understanding of valuation principles. Expertise in credit writing, case presentation & technical credit principal knowledge. An ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels.
