The Opportunity ElectraNet the owner and operator of South Australia's electricity transmission network, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Design Manager to lead the delivery of engineering services for our critical Regulated and Contestable Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects based in Adelaide, SA on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy in SA. You will be accountable for all technical aspects of the project life cycle including planning, design, construction and handover. In this engineering project management-style position you will be the primary contact for stakeholders for all technical requirements for the project whilst having responsibility for managing compliance to all ElectraNet’s engineering processes. With assigned teams of engineers, you will lead them to successful outcomes while being the accountable leader for each stage of the projects technical deliverables. In this role you will: Be the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding technical requirements, ensuring compliance with ElectraNet's engineering processes from project planning through to handover. Use broad technical knowledge to bring together and lead a project team of engineering SMEs to deliver a range of project activities throughout project execution. Develop specification documentation, manage design and construction reviews, and ensure adherence to all relevant industry regulations and standards. Work with the project manager to manage technical project risks, commercial impacts, and project timelines, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. About You With high level strategic and commercial experience, you will ensure the timely delivery of all the engineering deliverables for the project, for the life of the project including scope, cost, quality and time. You will have proven cradle to grave project engineering experience with the role being a blend of Adelaide office and site based. The successful applicant will be/have: Extensive experience in an engineering design or technical project management capacity (13+ years desirable) in either electrical or civil/structural industries, leading delivery of projects from definition through specification design review, to on-site construction and handover. Exceptional stakeholder management skills and leadership skills demonstrating ability to motivate others and influence/negotiate effectively. Detailed understanding of commercial and contractual implications of technical decision-making.
