The opportunity Based in either our Perth or Brisbane offices, and as a vital member of the Strategy and Growth team, the Senior Electrical Estimator plays a key role in supporting Early Contractor Involvement contracts. Leveraging expertise as a SME, this role focuses on construction cost estimating, assessing constructability, and contributing to planning and resourcing efforts to drive project success. Your primary responsibilities include: Review tender documents and provide information and advice relating to tenders and estimating; Prepare estimates, quantities, prices and costings for projects including: direct and indirect labour hours; preliminary costs; plant, equipment and materials; Undertake accurate material take offs from drawings as well as analytical risk assessment for all activities; Scheduling for EIC activities; Prepare Value Engineering Options for consideration to deliver superior project outcomes; Apply a commercial view to producing tender; Obtain competitive quotes for the provision of materials and services; Ensure proposals are subject to management review and are approved for submission in accordance with the Altrad Management System (AMS). Who do we want to hear from? Success in this position relies on the individual's ability to prepare precise, comprehensive estimates for electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills as a SME in EIC operations, contributing to the growth of in-house delivery, and providing guidance on cost estimating, constructability, and planning for Early Contractor Involvement contracts. You will possess: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a construction estimating environment; Extensive practical experience in the following areas: Electrical (LV and HV); Instrumentation; Controls; Telecommunications; Trade Certification in electrical, instrumentation and control; Sound understanding of AS3000 requirements and industry standards; Sound understanding of Hazardous Area requirements; Ability to interpret drawings and to take off quantities; Ability to perform basic electrical design calculations such as cable sizing; Sound analytical capabilities and technical knowledge.
