About the Role / Are you up for the challenge? We are currently looking for a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join the team on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project (B2A). The ideal candidate is passionate about developing and implementing a stakeholder and community engagement program, supporting the Project’s engagement objectives in line with the Communications and Stakeholder Management Plan. Critical to the roll will be establishing strong relationships with a range of key stakeholders to assist with the successful management of stakeholder and community issues and advocating for best for community and project outcomes. This position will play a key role in strengthening the relationship between the project and local stakeholders, enabling the successful delivery of the B2A works.The role is primarily based out of the site office in Broadford with some travel required to the main Project office in Docklands. It will also involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved. Project Description Inland Rail is a 1600km freight rail line connecting Melbourne and Brisbane that will transform how goods are moved around Australia.In Victoria, Inland Rail (IRPL) is upgrading 262km of existing rail line between Beveridge and Albury at 12 sites. John Holland is delivering the scope of works at eight of these Victorian sites (Tranche 2) to allow double-stacked freight trains to pass safely and ensure everyday products can be delivered faster and more reliably.Tranche 2 works includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across project sites between Wandong and Benalla. Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do; Identify stakeholder and community issues and develop strategies to minimise impacts. Ensure client expectations are fully understood and develop good working relationships with the client. Plan and manage contact with external stakeholders and the community in a way that enhances the reputation of John Holland and organisation partners. Assist to develop and implement the Communications and Stakeholder Management Plan for the project, including developing and implementing Communication Action Plans and procedures for specific sites, ensuring they are reviewed and updated as required. Develop good working relationships with the project construction team to ensure works are undertaken strategically, minimising impact and disruption to stakeholders and the local community. Provide advice and assistance to the construction teams on emerging community issues, so steps can be taken to address concerns. Work with the client to facilitate site visits and ensure all approvals are in place, visitors to the project have appropriate PPE and undergo relevant site inductions and briefings. Write and contribute towards a range of high-quality communication materials, including works notifications, newsletter content, advertising, social media posts and formal correspondence as well as co-ordinate residential door-knocks as appropriate. Co-ordinate responses to construction related enquiries and complaints via phone, email, website and social media, in line with agreed client procedures. Co-ordinate and support regular stakeholder and community meetings as required. Contribute to the identification and reduction of construction related risks and hazards with regard to stakeholders and the community. Assist to develop strategies to achieve best possible results with project KRA and KPI’s. Maintain registers and ensure community and stakeholder activities are recorded appropriately and in line with agreed client framework. Provide information to input into project reporting cycles. Assist in the identification, development and management of promotional opportunities for the project (i.e. media stories, community presentations, milestones events etc). Participate and assist with activities undertaken by the wider Communications team as required. To be successful in this key role, we are looking for; A passion to help make positive change in communities. Good written and verbal communication skills and strong relationship building skills. Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing). Experience providing strategic communications advice and delivering community engagement activities on construction projects or in a similar field.
