Job Description
Senior Environmental Scientist/Geochemist Join to apply for the Senior Environmental Scientist/Geochemist role at Mine Earth . Location: Perth, Fremantle & Southern Suburbs Employment Type: Full-time About Us Mine Earth is an industry-leading, ethically motivated mine closure consultancy, consisting of geologists, engineers, ecologists, soil scientists, geochemists, and environmental scientists. We have unparalleled experience in mine closure and rehabilitation, with offices in Brisbane and Perth. The Role Mine Earth is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist / Geochemist to support our Mine Waste group . This role involves assessing the environmental risks associated with mining material exposure and exploring opportunities for their reuse both on-site and during closure. The role will include occasional site visits. About You The successful applicant will have: Relevant professional qualifications (geology, chemistry, or environmental science). 5+ years' experience in mining, contaminated land, and/or construction. Experience working in a team environment, managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery. Strong communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex and technical information to a range of stakeholders. Key Skills & Experience Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas: Environmental geochemistry and water-rock interactions. Mine waste characterization, including acid and metalliferous drainage. Water quality modelling (e.g., reinjection, pit lakes). Geology and rock physical properties. Environmental impacts and source pathway receptors. Development of management plans and operational procedures. Mining-specific expertise in mine waste characterization and closure cover design. Understanding of hydrogeology and hydrology on operating sites. Strong reporting skills and the capacity to summarize complex information in a simple and clear manner will be highly valued.
