Senior Finance Advisor - Financial Advisory Services Financial Services Branch - Finance, Procurement and Facilities Division An exciting temporary full-time opportunity exists to join the Financial Advisory Services team as an AO6 Senior Finance Advisor. This role will be based in Cairns Regional Office. This position is offered on a temporary basis through to 3 August 2025, unless otherwise determined.The successful applicant will partner with schools to provide strategic financial advice around investment decisions. They will be able to demonstrate their ability to provide contemporary advice to support resource maximisation, have strong data analysis skills, be able to develop strategies, provide advice and undertake interventions with stakeholders. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to provide training and one-on-one and group capability building regarding financial management with Principals and Business Managers will be critical to these roles. About the Role: The Senior Finance Business Partner works directly with schools and will: Support the development and delivery of financial management training material to support schools. Assist with the development and communication of school accounting policies and procedures. Responsibilities include: Undertaking analysis of financial management practices and financial performance of schools. Providing financial management advice to school-based staff. Monitoring the level of financial management competencies within schools. Providing appropriate training and development programs to enhance financial management skills. Working effectively in a team environment. About You: To be successful in this position you will have: Sound knowledge of contemporary financial management issues and strategies impacting schools. Ability to interrogate and analyse school financial management systems - Agresso and OneSchool Finance. Ability to deliver training programs relating to school financial management, including in an online format. High level communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to influence customer behaviour and implement change. Demonstrated leadership and management skills appropriate to achieving outcomes within negotiated timeframes.
