Job Description Introduction: The Senior Finance Manager role plays a critical part in overseeing and managing the financial operations of our group organizations nationally. This position involves strategic planning, financial analysis, and leadership to ensure the various entities meet their financial goals and comply with the regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Present financial performance and insights to the executive team and stakeholders. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, including accountants and analysts. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional growth. Cost Management and Efficiency: Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency. Monitor expenses to ensure adherence to the budget. Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource allocation. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the organization adheres to all financial regulations and reporting standards. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Manage audits, both internal and external, ensuring successful outcomes. Business Analysis and Decision Support: Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities and perform financial modelling for business proposals. Monitor market trends and assess their impact on the company’s financial health. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with management, board members, and external partners on financial matters. Build and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions. Represent the finance department in cross-functional meetings and initiatives. Desired Skills and Experience Key Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a senior role. Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial management and reporting. Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Xero/ELMO, Excel, Financial modelling software). Knowledge and a good command of payroll functions, including exposure to industry awards such as SCHADS, Nursing and Aged Care awards. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences. A willingness to undergo background checks and meet any other requirements mandated by regulatory bodies or employers is essential. The Senior Finance Manager is required to operate from the Value Care Head office (Parramatta, Sydney) and may need to travel occasionally for stakeholder meetings or audits to group offices across Australia. The role involves collaboration across departments, external Accounting and Legal Services providers, with stakeholders from different group entities and therefore, requires adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
