Senior Finance Manager (Property & Construction) About us TWH Advisory is delighted to be partnering with our client who is a large privately owned organisation with interests in construction, property development and funds management. Operating in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, the business is at an important stage of their 10-year growth journey and are very confident about the macroeconomic tailwinds for residential property in Australia. About the role Working from corporate offices on St Kilda Road (3004), the Senior Finance Manager is a newly created role to add capability to support a business of 80 FTE staff with further growth plans initiated in their 10-year corporate strategy. The Senior FM will be a key business partner to a General Manager overseeing $100m in revenue on construction related projects predominantly in Victoria. The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day finance function of this business unit, managing a team of 4 staff. The role combines strong financial expertise with a deep understanding of construction processes to support the successful execution of projects, minimise financial risks, and ensure profitability. The role will collaborate with various stakeholders in the construction and development teams, and be pivotal in providing accurate and effective financial reporting and insights to assist with strategic decision-making. It will also have oversight of the treasury, tax & compliance, commercial analysis and long term financial planning for the business. This role reports into the Group Finance function and is a key business partner and confidante to the business unit General Manager who will be the primary stakeholder. The role is offered as a full-time, permanent appointment to be based out of corporate headquarters in Melbourne. A strong remuneration package plus tools of the trade commensurate with a professional appointment of this nature will be negotiated with the successful candidate. About you In order to be considered for the role, we are targeting the following attributes in the successful candidate: A Commerce/Accounting degree and be CAANZ/CPA qualified. Experience to Manager level + in a recognised Chartered firm with property and construction clients or 5+ years’ experience in a Finance leadership role within industry. Genuine interest in working within a privately owned business and have empathy and understanding for the dynamics of being a business partner to owners. Commercial and financial leadership experience within a construction or property business will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading a transactional finance team. Strong understanding of key business functions including Workplace health and safety, Procurement, HR, Operations and Technology. The resilience, tenacity and application of change management principles to succeed in developing and improving risk management frameworks, financial models and corporate reporting standards. Excellent communication and personal presentation standards, pursuant to being a representative of such a high-quality brand within Australia’s property landscape.
