About the role: The Senior Financial Officer works within a team that provides complex service agreement advice, funding allocation, analysis, and reporting services to support a broad client group across departments. The successful candidate will have experience in finance systems, the ability to lead, problem solve and work collaboratively in a team environment. How you'll make a difference: Coordinating funding variations across Central office programs for DH (Department of Health) and DFFH (Department of Families, Fairness and Housing) with advice and key updates provided to divisional stakeholders. Manage the process of entering new funding/commitments into SAMS2 (Service Agreement Management System) for Central Office programs for both Department of Health and Department of Families Fairness and Housing. Participation at SAMS2 Core user group, Service Agreement Management Working Group meetings and ensuring the EOFY (End of Financial Year) rollover process and indexation is managed within the agreed timelines. Lead Monthly reports with comprehensive data analysis and various reports required by stakeholders. Provide technical financial advice to key stakeholders on an ad hoc basis. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Appropriate tertiary qualifications in relevant areas such as Accounting, Finance, or similar related disciplines. Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or equivalent professional accounting body is desirable. Experience in public sector funding applications would be highly regarded.
