Provide leadership, guidance and advice to TAFE Queensland regions on injury management to effect improvements in health, safety and wellbeing. As the Senior Injury Management Consultant, you will: Provide leadership, guidance and advice to TAFE Queensland regions on injury management to effect improvements in health, safety and wellbeing performance. Implement strategies to ensure TAFE Queensland achieves excellence in Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Manager, Health Management. This is a Temporary, Part-time .6 opportunity, to 30 June 2025 unless otherwise determined. The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, guidance and advice to the regions on injury management to effect improvements in health, safety and wellbeing performance. This includes WorkCover claims management (including claims lodgement, investigations, and Workers Compensation reviews and appeals), Income Protection claims management, Health related absence management, Workplace rehabilitation, Medical Re-deployment, Ill Health Retirement, Reasonable Adjustment and other related work. Provide high level advice to senior management, managers, staff, Health Management team members as well as officers of Workers Compensation and other Insurers, and Office of Industrial Relations with regard to all aspects of the administration of workers’ compensation claims, income protection and associated leave. Identify and implement proactive wellbeing and injury management strategies to improve health, safety and wellbeing performance. Monitor injury management data across TAFE Queensland to identify trends and develop reports, to inform both the regions and corporate office of issues and opportunities to improve health, safety and wellbeing performance. Prepare correspondence, including briefing materials and reports on issues related to injury management, health, safety and wellbeing. Establish networks across the state and liaise with officers from within the organisation to promote and monitor the implementation of contemporary health and injury management related practices. Work closely with the Manager, Health Management to maintain effective and timely sharing of information while maintaining appropriate separation of duties. Promote a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for staff which encourages commitment, skills development and professional growth, and continuous improvement. How you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Provide high level injury management services that align with legislative and organisational priorities and contribute to improved organisational health performance. Apply contemporary injury management practices and strategies to facilitate appropriate outcomes for injured and ill employees in line with best practice case management and legislative standards for rehabilitation. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders such as Workers, Supervisors/Managers, Leadership teams; colleagues across Health Safety and Wellbeing, Human Resources and Employee Relations; and external stakeholders, to achieve effective outcomes within negotiated timeframes. Respond professionally and impartially to the competing demands of Workers, Managers, Leadership teams, Health Professionals and external agencies in a complex and changing organisational environment. Consult, negotiate, problem solve and prepare high level written reports and correspondence.
